My favorite bbq appetizer is deviled eggs. I love ’em. I also love adding a hard boiled egg to a salad from time to time. Every time I made hard boiled eggs I needed to find a recipe online and try and remember if it was going to work like I wanted, or how long, blah blah blah. The result, I just said eff it and bought hard boiled eggs…. but no more! This stupid simple recipe will change that forever… or at least I’ll know right were to find it.
Once you’ve got those eggs done it’s time to kick up some crazy deviled eggs… get creative and get cooking!!
Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs
Quick, easy, consistent, perfect hard boiled eggs in your Instant Pot
Equipment
- Instant Pot
- Steamer Basket
Ingredients
- Eggs
- 1 Cup Water
Instructions
- Place a steaming rack in your Instant Pot and add 1 cup water
- Add as your eggs to the Instant Pot
- Set your IP on Pressure Cook – High for 6 minutes (see notes for more on cooking time).
- Once complete, immediately vent
- Once safe, open the lid and transfer the eggs to an ice bath
Notes
For easy peeling, once they have cooled, crackle the shell and peel from the large end. Eggs nearing their expiration date seem to work better.
You can reduce the cooking time for a more jammy yolk. I’ve found that 3 minutes is the minimum and 7 gets a very firm, very done yolk.
Enjoy!! I love to sprinkle a little salt and chipotle powder or smoked paprika and some Yellowbird hot sauce. The only problem is portion control!
